The 'Journey' project invites connection, a journey inwards and each other—fetuses in fragile pure porcelain. The sculptures are lovingly sculpted from the same material, but each has an identity. When you look at it, you see what lives deep within us and around us: bloom, fragility, being intact, being bruised, beauty, shadow, and light… They irresistibly lead every viewer back to their inner child. Ann knows this is a unique quest for everyone, just as every statue of the Journey project is impressive. The projection the images evoke gives us a picture of who we are, but this is not always very sharp. Very often, even so, it diffuses that we do not see "it." But somehow, we know it's not about the image itself but about who looks at it and how they interpret it.
